Cyber incidents rise but premiums fall

It was reported in The Insurance Times today that cyber insurance premiums fell 11% in 2025 despite a 20% rise in incidents. Good news for business owners who have been considering whether they should take out cover but haven’t done it yet.

It is very clear from the impact in 2025 to the operations of some of our biggest, well-established UK businesses that no-one is safe. There will have been smaller firms taken out of business by these criminals. It may not have been newsworthy but it would have taken it’s toll on the individuals affected and results in a loss to the economy.

If your business stores customer data, relies on IT to manage orders and take payments, if you are dependent on online marketing and the strength of your brand reputation then cyber cover is required.

Cyber insurance can’t prevent a hack but it does help you to recover the hardware, software, data and keep goodwill intact helping you to get back to business as quickly as possible. We can help you navigate what you need to do to take out cyber insurance that’s specific to your business.
